The Organic Pharmacy was founded by Margo Marrone who began her working life in a pharmacy. She was fascinated by the variety of treatments that could be produced from the array of ingredients in the pharmacy and was inspired to study. Marrone then became rather disturbed by the chemical make-up of personal care products and began to research effective alternatives. She became a specialist in herbal and homeopathic treatments and decided to use her expert knowledge to begin a new approach to personal care.
